Statement of Intention

I have been an artist and natural explorer since I was a small child, enjoying different mediums. I love that creating art gives me the ability to express feelings, innovate and overcome challenges.

As an artist, I look to shape narratives and create emotion. I believe art can turn simple materials into fantasy, beauty, and even courage. My goal with every piece is to make people slow down, reflect and feel. I want to use my art and designs to form meaningful connections and bring more beauty into the world.

I previously assumed I would make art my life’s work and studied fashion design. After a pause for deep reflection, I discovered that while art is a part of me and a way to tell stories, there is more I want to do. I have refocused my studies to look deeper through philosophy, history and psychology. I was lucky enough to take time to travel and to learn from some amazing teachers in Italy and Argentina, studying the struggles people there endured. That time, along with world and domestic events, brought me to the realization that I want to pursue helping people not only through the beauty of art but also fighting injustice in my work. I plan to study law and hope to use that knowledge to help right so many wrongs we face as a world.
