La Mia Famiglia
I used mixed media collage to explore my Italian heritage and what it means to reinvent yourself in a new place, whether a new country or a new direction in life. It is meant as a tribute to my grandfather, who came to this country without even knowing the language. I wanted his eyes to see through the art I am creating and the direction I am heading. I also wanted to use this piece as a way to venture out again after a period of personal hibernation, reflection & growth

La Mia Famiglia. Mixed media collage from family photos, documents and magazine clippings scanned and edited in Photoshop, printed on large format photo paper and mounted with wheat paste. 3' x 4' La Mia Famiglia is an extension of what I created with Dema, as detailed in my personal essay.
